July 1: today
we had our annual Canada Day street bash, hosted by Judy and Mearl Obee again this year. As usual it was a blast! This is a pot luck, byob event which draws 70-80 neighbours together for a fun evening of food, drink and music you can listen and dance to! Rain threatened, and in fact at one point even made a weak attempt to spoil the party....but 80 people on their knees praying the storm would bypass or party seemed to do the trick. There were some memorable events, most.... but not all....involving dancing on the deck. It is fascinating what a few glasses of wine will do to improve one's dancing skills; or make one think so anyway. There was some fine footwork for sure! And of course, last year Ruby's pole-dancing took the prize for most memorable event; butt this year we saw still another side of this shy, quiet (right!) and funnnnn... lady. Oh Canada...we are blessed with the wondrous sights of this great country. And flags...well...one sees Canadian flags everywhere.
Happy Canada Day everyone!
